NPR Asks - Vote for Your Favorite YA Novels

Last month we asked you, our audience, to nominate titles for a top-100 list of the best young adult — YA — fiction ever written. Thousands of you sent in nominations. We’ve tabulated those suggestions and, with the help of an expert panel, narrowed the list to the 235 finalists you see below.

And so, let the voting begin! Everyone gets 10 votes. Feel free to reminisce about your favorites — or lobby for them — in the comments section. We’ll be back in a few weeks with a list that should keep the young people in your life entertained and inspired until long after their teen years exist only as cringe-worthy memories.

My favorites included Harry Potter (duh), The Fault in Our Stars and The Giver. I’m excited to see what makes the top of the list, and hopefully find some new reading material in the process!

NPR Reporter Interviews His Two Little Girls After One Gives the Other the ‘Worst Haircut Ever’

Hartford-based WNPR reporter Jeff Cohenhas two little girls: Sadie, 5, and Eva, 3. Recently, Sadie decided to give Eva a homemade haircut, which, as you might expect, didn’t end up looking very good.

Their dad wanted to get to the bottom of the hairdressing debacle, so he did what any good public radio reporter would do: He sat them down, turned on his recording equipment, and conducted the cutest interview imaginable.

“What did do you with the hair?”

“I hid it under the radiator!”

Wait Wait ...Don't Tell Me gets its own TV show!

So so excited! I went to a live taping last year in Chicago and it was one of the highlights of my travel season. Love you Carl Kasell.

One last belated valentine from my friend, and fellow NPR lover, YooMi. Such a nice treat to start my Tuesday.
Also, I was really bummed to find out that the new House budget is out and it dramatically cuts the funding for NPR and PBS. I love NPR, maybe too much, and so when Yooms showed a petition to sign to protest the cuts, I had to put my name down. Feel free to add yours if you feel the same.
